Sara Francis Fujimura is an author from Arizona. She writes regularly for regional and national markets. Her work for children has appeared in such magazines as Girls' Life, Scholastic's Science World, Appleseeds, Learning through History, New Moon, and Current Health I, among others. Sara's work for adults has appeared in such diverse magazines as Raising Arizona Kids, The World Health Organization's Perspectives in Health, Woman's Day, Homeland Security Today, Dance Spirit, VegFamily, and East West, among others. Because she spends part of the summer in Japan with her family each year, much of Sara's fiction takes place in Japan or has Japanese-inspired elements.

Sara is also fascinated by deadly diseases, such as Spanish influenza. With this weird obsession, Sara frequently ruined the curve in Epidemiology class, much to her classmates' annoyance, while completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Education at the University of North Carolina. When she's not writing or teaching classes about writing, you can find Sara traveling the US and abroad with her family: husband Toshi and kids Katie and Andy. Sara is also a Girl Scout leader and occasionally fills in as choreographer for various school productions at her children's school.
